Meet Dr. Lester Goetz

Dr. Lester Goetz is a consultant urologist who is a founding member and the 1st president of the Caribbean Urological Association as well as the 1st President of Trinidad and Tobago Urological Association. As a Head of Department in Urology at San Fernando General Hospital Dr. Lester Goetz established the first dedicated urology ward and theatre both in Trinidad and Tobago and the English Speaking Caribbean.

Under Dr. Lester Goetz 's leadership San Fernando General Hospital was recognised as a Urology Training Centre by the SIU (The International Society of Urology).

Dr. Lester Goetz introduced the Urology Programme at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago and was a Programme Director of urology UWI.

Dr. Lester Goetz was appointed as the Medical Director at San Fernando General Hospital where among other accomplishments he introduced the cardiac unit which resulted in 40% decrease in mortality rate at that hospital.
